Asheville Glass Blowing Demos

Since 2010 master scientific glass blower, Jason Probstein has been presenting live glassblowing demonstrations here at our art gallery.

And once again we are proud to announce that Jason will be blowing his unique Christmas ornaments here at Mountain Made from November 17th to December 23rd, 2018.

Jason will be demostrating every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. And every Sunday from Noon – 2:00 PM.

Jason sets up his portable glassblowing studio right inside the gallery and will display how he makes his fantastic holiday ornaments, wine goblets and champagne flutes.

Without a doubt, watching Jason performing one his holiday season demos and selecting a new ornament for their Christmas tree have become a cherished tradition for many families here in Western North Carolina as well as other parts of the Carolinas.

So if you happen to be in the downtown Asheville area after Thanksgiving, we invite you to come by and check out Jason at work.

New Handcrafted Holiday Gift List Coming Soon!

Next week, we will be announcing our 2018 Mountain Made Holiday Gift List. This list will make all your gift giving dreams come true. Okay, that’s a stretch, but we do have (almost) everything you might want when it comes locally made arts and crafts!

Our recommendations are especially selected items straight from some of the best master craftpeople and artists from around Asheville and the WNC mountains

Mountain Made’s gift guide will showcase a “delightful dozen” of handcrafted items that we think will suit just about anyone on your gift list. Be sure to watch for our next email.

Asheville’s Very Own Winter Wonderland at the Grove Arcade

Beginning Nov. 16, visitors to the Grove Arcade can recapture the holiday magic of yesteryear with the annual Winter Wonderland celebration amid the historic building’s beautifully decorated halls.

The opening-night festivities are free and open to the public and run from 5-8 pm.

This wonderful family-style event includes

• our (slightly) famous Deck the Halls Lighting Celebration
• a performance by the Asheville Symphony Chorus (starts at 6PM)
• as well as Story Time and Photos with Santa Claus;
• and much more.

And of course, Mountain Made will be OPEN late (until 8 PM) to help you kickoff your holiday shopping spree…cough! Your holiday fun!
