It is always interesting to us, to learn how an artist gets started in this wonderful industry. But of all the stories we have heard over the years, Terri’s is one of the most unique — Terri started her glassblowing career in 2006, when her husband gifted her with a glassblowing class!
Naturally Terri thought he was nuts but hey since the class included a week-long stay at a really nice hotel NOT to mention it had a non-refundable class fee – she went along with it.
As you can see from the images below that one glassblowing class got her completely hooked and so began her career as a glassblower.
Her path has not always been as clear and translucent as her art – it took her over 3 years to hand-build and equip her own glassblowing studio and workshop – from the layout, to the construction, welding and even the wiring!
But the vividly colored yet highly functional glassware that she creates have been well worth the effort!
We invite you to come by the gallery and see more of Terri’s work > Directions to Mountain Made.
