For the first time ever, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and schedule changes announced by the NCAA, the Maui Jim Maui Invitational is planning to relocate to Asheville, NC.
This tournament (sponsored by Camping World) will be held this year from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2nd. The Maui Invitational is normally held in Hawaii the Monday through Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
However it was relocated this year because of the coronavirus pandemic and rescheduled due to the NCAA deciding to start their season on Nov. 25, 2020.
The teams expected to participate are Alabama, Davidson, Indiana, North Carolina, Providence, Stanford, Texas and UNLV.
Of course Asheville is no stranger to putting a good foot forward for basketball fans, if you have followed our community support of SoCon (the Southern Conference Basketball Tournament). But while there is not expected to be any public ticket sales, the tournament will be broadcast on national television on ESPN!
