Great Cosmic Happy Ass Playing Cards
Mountain Made will be hosting a Great Cosmic Happy Ass Playing Card 'Game' here at the gallery on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 11AM-5PM.
Asheville artist Diane English has created new playing cards: the Great Cosmic Happy Ass Card Deck.

Elixir, the signature event of Asheville Cocktail Week, will be held at the Grove Arcade for the first time Thursday, May 4, from 8-10 p.m.

Glass Wine Goblets
Formerly a part of the Asheville Wine and Food Festival, Elixir offers an evening of collaboration between mixologists and spirit specialists.
Open to the public as a ticketed event, Elixir provides tastings, food and a fun environment. Demonstrations and sample drinks will be provided in a structured, competition-style forum that’s sure to delight everyone attending.

Jim Begthol’s wire bonsai tree sculptures are crafted (twisted by hand) from over a 1000 individual strands of wire using only simple hand tools.
He uses a variety of wires from galvanized steel to stainless, from "bark" covered artistic wire to the ever popular twisted bare copper.

The Asheville Museum of Science, Buncombe County and Asheville City Schools, UNC Asheville, Mix 96.5 and The 828 are, together, co-hosting the Asheville Solar Eclipse Festival in the downtown park, complete with music, food and eclipse-related activities.
The event, which runs noon-3 p.m. Aug. 21, will be an opportunity to catch the eclipse all together, experiencing Asheville's place in the 99 percent-coverage zone.
And yes we be open, until at least 2:30 ish and then we be out in looking up like everyone else.

The Body at StarShine Mill: A Marcy Dehanne Grist Mill Mystery
Celia Miles is an Appalachian author retired community college instructor, edits and writes from Asheville. Old grist mills intrigue and enchant her—and get her heroine into difficulties and danger. When not traveling to find and photograph old mills and Neolithic sites, she’s reading about them and plotting the next novel.
