Bio/Artist Statement:
Asheville painter, Sharyn Fogel says, ” My first painting at age three was done on my bedroom door. My medium: fingernail polish. My reward: a spanking.
Undaunted, I presses on . Moved into finger paints (on paper this time!!), colored pencils, pastels, charcoal, acrylic oil and landed on watercolors. My reward: a lifetime of joy.”
Sharyn is best known for her original watercolors; done in the en plein air style of local landscapes and mountain views.
With her emphasis on natural colors and flowing lines, her work has been described as of a subtle kind of three-dimensional impressionistic view of our wonderful Western North Carolina mountains and valleys.
