Bio/Artist Statement
“Chancer Reese is a self-taught metal artist who create “junk artifacts” using various kinds of steel nails, nuts, bolts, washers and scrap pieces.
She says, “My artwork is the result of a life-long desire to take things apart and putting it back together for as long as I can remember. This was fatal for my mother’s old metal alarm clock – the bells never rang again!
Still when I saw a series of videos on making art out of vintage cut nails, I thought this would be a cool thing to learn.
For me brazing and metalworking has become a peaceful endeavor that provides a three-dimensional outlet for the non-dimensional thoughts that buzz around in my mind.”
