Fiber and Textile art along with basketry have been a part of human culture for thousands of years.

Sewing and basket weaving are two of the oldest and most wide spread crafts in history and can be found as far north as the Arctic to as far south as the tip of Africa and any place in between.

Baskets have always been used to store and carry household items; while sewn or quilted wall hangings have been use to beautify both cottages and castles.  And it is no different today.

Here at Mountain Made we have a little bit of everything when it comes Asheville’s Fiber Art scene.

We have a wonderful selection of beautiful fiber art pieces: from contemporary art quilts to flower pounding quilts; sculptural hand-woven baskets to natural fiber vessels; from carved and hand painted gourds to beautiful hand knitted jewelry.
