Art Quilter Linda Johnson is an Asheville native who currently lives in Morganton, a small town in the foothills of western North Carolina.

Linda is very well-known for her unique landscape and nature quilted postcards and artwork featuring outdoor scenes from WNC.

So it comes as no surprise that two of her quilted landscape pieces have been accepted for display by the Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. One piece of the main hospital and the the other one is of the research wing of the hospital.

Linda says that “Sewing has been a passion since I was a child” and it shows in the work she creates in her small studio, SewUpscale.

Linda specializes in creating quilted fabric postcards and art quilts. All of Linda’s mini-artwork quilts are “handmade by me all by myself!” she says.

Linda’s quilted fabric postcards are made by adding layers of fabric to create each individual design and then stitching each layer – one at a time.

Linda’s says it’s a multi-step process and results in a quilted fabric postcard that is truly unique and one-of-a-kind.

Linda’s little pieces of stitched art make popular gifts for hostesses, weddings, birthdays, holidays and delightful travel souvenir.

What Are Quilted Postcards Good For?

A quilted fabric postcard be used as a note card for almost any special occasion or as a ‘just thinking of you’ gift.

When one of these spectacular postcards arrives through the mail, they can be framed or displayed on an easel – a memory for someone to keep forever.
